About St George's Catholic School

Parents are overwhelmingly positive about St George’s Catholic School. In the most recent Parent View survey, covering September 2024 to September 2025, 82% of the 45 respondents said they would recommend the school to other parents. That confidence is backed up by strong individual scores: 89% of parents agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy, and 89% felt their child is safe. Behaviour is a particular strength — 93% agreed the school ensures pupils are well-behaved, and 93% also agreed the school has high expectations for their child. The school is clearly popular locally: for the 2025/26 admissions round, it received 584 applications for 206 places, an oversubscription ratio of 2.83. Of the 156 first-preference applicants, 140 were offered a place. That level of demand puts it among the most sought-after secondaries in Westminster, and it’s one of only five schools in the borough rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

Academically, St George’s delivers results that comfortably exceed local norms. Its Progress 8 score of 0.72 is rated ‘Well above average’ nationally and places it fourth out of 11 schools in Westminster, well ahead of the local authority average of 0.51. Pupils achieve an Attainment 8 score of 55.7, and 78.1% secure a grade 4 or above in both English and maths. The school also pushes the English Baccalaureate: 75% of pupils entered the EBacc suite of subjects, and 47.4% achieved a grade 4 or above across all five components. In the sixth form, A-level students average B- per entry (37.03 points), with a value-added score of -0.06, rated ‘Average’. The most recent Ofsted inspection in January 2025 judged every available category — quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth-form provision — as Outstanding.

The school is a Roman Catholic secondary for pupils aged 11 to 18, with a capacity of 1,100 but currently housing 1,153 pupils, so it’s running slightly over its official roll. Facilities are generous for a London state school: there’s a swimming pool, theatre, chapel, sixth-form centre, playing fields, tennis courts, and a gymnasium. The sports programme includes football, basketball, cricket, swimming, martial arts, and dance, while clubs range from Art Club and Orchestra to Model UN, Debate, and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. SEND support covers a wide range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. With 34% of pupils eligible for free school meals, the school serves a genuinely diverse intake. It’s best suited to families who value a faith-based education with strong academic outcomes, high expectations, and a broad extracurricular offer — and who are prepared for a competitive admissions process.

No catchment data published for this school

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.

⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
