Watermoor Church of England Primary School
About Watermoor Church of England Primary School
Watermoor Church of England Primary School received a Good rating across all areas in its most recent Ofsted inspection, a significant turnaround from its previous overall rating of Inadequate. The inspection, which took place in 2025, judged the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision all as Good. This marks a clear improvement for the school, which had previously been rated Inadequate overall, with Requires Improvement for quality of education and early years provision. The most telling exam metric, however, is the Key Stage 2 combined reading, writing and maths expected standard. Just 18% of pupils reached this benchmark in the 2023/24 academic year, placing the school well below the local authority average of 59% for similar schools. In reading, 53% met the expected standard, while in writing it was 35% and in maths just 29%. Only 6% of pupils achieved the higher standard across all three subjects. Nationally, Watermoor ranks in the bottom 1% of primary schools on this measure, and it sits last among the 38 schools in the Cotswold local authority area.
