About The Round House Primary Academy

Every single parent who responded to the most recent Parent View survey said they would recommend The Round House Primary Academy to other parents. The survey, covering the period from September 2024 to September 2025, drew 106 responses and showed that 100% of parents either agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy at the school and feels safe there. That level of satisfaction is reflected in the school’s popularity: for the 2025/26 academic year, it received 86 applications for 49 places, an oversubscription ratio of 1.76. All 49 first-preference applicants were offered a place, but the overall demand means families need to be on the ball when applying. Parents also feel well-informed, with 99% agreeing the school lets them know how their child is doing, and 99% saying they are made aware of what their child will learn.

Academically, the school performs comfortably above the local average. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 results, 69% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, compared with the Cambridgeshire local authority average of 58%. The school also stretches its pupils, with 17% achieving the higher standard in all three subjects. In reading, the average scaled score was 108, and 42% of pupils reached the higher standard. Maths saw an average score of 107, with 38% hitting the higher threshold. The school’s performance places it 11th out of 55 primary schools in Huntingdonshire, putting it in the top 20% locally. Nationally, it ranks in the top third of all primary schools. Ofsted inspectors awarded the school a Good rating in their most recent graded inspection, with leadership and management, early years provision, and overall effectiveness all judged as Good. The school has held a Good rating across both its recent inspections, having improved from a Requires Improvement rating in its previous graded inspection.

The school offers a broad range of facilities, including a sports hall, gymnasium, music rooms, library, and a forest school area. There is a strong focus on extracurricular activities, with clubs covering drama, film, and book club, plus sports such as cross country, rounders, cricket, and athletics. The Round House also provides nursery provision for children from age two, making it a convenient option for families with younger siblings. The school is well-equipped to support children with additional needs, with provisions in place for specific learning difficulties, speech and language needs, hearing impairment, physical disability, and autistic spectrum disorder. With 23.1% of pupils eligible for free school meals, the school serves a diverse intake. Given its strong academic results, high parent satisfaction, and oversubscribed status, this is a school best suited to families who value a primary experience with strong community support and a clear focus on achievement.

No catchment data published for this school

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.

⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
