About St Agnes' Catholic Primary School
St Agnes' Catholic Primary School in Barnet received an Outstanding rating from Ofsted in its most recent graded inspection, a significant step up from the Good it had held previously. The inspection, which took place in 2019, awarded top marks across every category: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision. A subsequent ungraded inspection in 2025 confirmed that these high standards have been maintained. The most telling academic metric for a primary school is the proportion of pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined. At St Agnes', 76 per cent of pupils achieved this benchmark in the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 tests, which is three percentage points above the Barnet local authority average of 73 per cent. This places the school 36th out of 80 primary schools in the borough, putting it in the top half locally and within the top 25 per cent of schools nationally.
Digging deeper into the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 results, the school's performance is consistently strong across individual subjects. In maths, 89 per cent of pupils met the expected standard and 40 per cent reached the higher standard, with an average scaled score of 108. Reading saw 84 per cent at the expected level and 38 per cent at the higher level, with an average score of 107. In writing, 82 per cent met the expected standard and 36 per cent achieved greater depth. While the school does not publish progress scores, these attainment figures paint a picture of a school where the vast majority of children are working at or above age-related expectations. Parent feedback is overwhelmingly positive: 98 per cent of respondents to the Parent View survey said they would recommend the school, and 98 per cent agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy at the school. The survey, which ran between September 2024 and September 2025, drew 136 responses, a solid sample size.
St Agnes' is a Roman Catholic primary school for children aged 3 to 11, with nursery provision on site. It is a popular choice: for the 2025/26 intake, the school received 128 applications for 60 places, making it oversubscribed with a ratio of 2.13 applicants per place. Of the 54 first-preference applications, 51 were offered a place. The school has a capacity of 458 and currently enrols 431 pupils. Just over a quarter of pupils (25.8 per cent) are eligible for free school meals, which is above the national average and suggests a genuinely mixed intake. Facilities include a sports hall, gymnasium, ICT suite, art studios, a chapel and a forest school area. The school offers a range of clubs including coding, gardening, book club, eco club and art club, and fields teams in rounders, tennis, athletics and netball. SEND support covers specific learning difficulties, speech and language needs, social and emotional mental health, and autistic spectrum disorder. This is a school that combines strong academic outcomes with a clear Catholic identity and a broad offer beyond the classroom.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
