About Sandy Secondary School

Just over three-quarters of parents who responded to Ofsted's Parent View survey would recommend Sandy Secondary School, with 76% saying yes. That's a solid vote of confidence, and it's backed up by some strong individual scores: 82% of the 158 respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy, and 88% felt their child is safe. The school is clearly popular locally too — it was oversubscribed for the 2025/26 academic year, with 30 applications for 25 places, a ratio of 1.2 to 1. Twenty-three of those 30 applicants got their first preference. Parents also gave notably high marks for the range of subjects on offer (94% agreed or strongly agreed) and for clubs and activities, where 95% felt their child could take part. On the SEND front, 69% of parents whose children have special educational needs agreed the school provides the support they need, though 29% disagreed, which is worth noting.
