The school itself ranks 64th out of 83 in Sandwell based on the proportion of pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths at Key Stage 2, placing it in the bottom half of local primaries. For context, the top-performing nearby schools include Grove Vale Primary School, Burnt Tree Primary School and St Pauls Church of England Academy, all of which score higher on the same ranking metric. The nearest Outstanding-rated school is Grace Mary Primary School, just 1.1 kilometres away. The school currently has 382 pupils on roll against a capacity of 420, and 37 per cent of its pupils are eligible for free school meals, which is notably above the national average.

In its most recent Ofsted inspection in February 2025, Rounds Green was judged Good across all graded areas, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. The early years provision was also rated Good. This marks a significant improvement from the school’s previous inspection in 2019, when it was rated Requires Improvement overall. At Key Stage 2 in the 2023/24 academic year, 52 per cent of pupils achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, compared with the Sandwell local authority average of 60 per cent. Individual subject results show 73 per cent reached the expected standard in maths, 68 per cent in writing, and 58 per cent in reading. Average scaled scores were 102 in both reading and maths. The proportion of pupils achieving the higher standard was 13 per cent in reading and 12 per cent in maths, with none reaching that level in writing or across all three subjects combined.

The school offers a range of facilities including a sports hall, playing fields, gymnasium, sensory room, art studios and a dining hall. Sports provision includes football, netball, gymnastics and cricket, while extracurricular clubs cover drama, coding, book club, choir, gardening and eco club. Rounds Green has identified SEND provisions for specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, moderate learning difficulty, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication needs, hearing impairment, and other difficulties. For the 2025/26 admissions cycle, the school was oversubscribed, receiving 38 total applications for 33 places, with 30 first-preference offers made from 30 first-preference applications. Parent View responses from 35 parents between September 2024 and September 2025 were largely positive: 91 per cent agreed or strongly agreed their child is happy, 92 per cent felt their child is safe, and 80 per cent would recommend the school. This is a school that has clearly turned a corner under its current leadership and suits families looking for a community primary with strong pastoral care and improving academic outcomes.

No catchment data published for this school

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.

⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
