About Priors Hall - A Learning Community
Priors Hall - A Learning Community has turned a corner. In its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2024, the school was judged to be Good overall, a clear step up from its previous Requires Improvement rating in 2019. The inspection team was particularly impressed with the early years provision and pupils' personal development, both of which were rated Outstanding. Behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management, and the quality of education all came in at Good. That improvement story is backed up by the school's most recent Key Stage 2 results. Sixty per cent of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, which is very close to the local authority average of 61 per cent. In reading and writing individually, 74 per cent of pupils reached the expected level, and 70 per cent did so in maths. Average scores in reading and maths both sat at 103, in line with the national average.
Digging deeper into the data, the school's performance places it in the middle of the pack locally. Among 90 primary schools in North Northamptonshire, Priors Hall ranks 50th on the combined reading, writing and maths measure, putting it in the 55th percentile. Nationally, it sits around the 56th percentile out of nearly 14,000 schools. The school's Progress 8 scores are not available, so it's hard to say exactly how much value it adds from starting points, but the attainment figures suggest a solid, broadly average academic offering. The parent view is generally positive: 87 per cent of the 106 respondents would recommend the school. Strong majorities agreed that their child is happy (89 per cent strongly agree or agree) and feels safe (89 per cent). However, a notable minority of parents raised concerns about how concerns are dealt with, with 16 per cent disagreeing that issues are handled properly.
Priors Hall is a larger-than-average primary, with 484 pupils against a capacity of 420, and it is clearly popular. For entry in 2025/26, the school received 120 applications for 59 places, making it oversubscribed by a factor of just over two to one. Eighty-one of those applications were first preferences, and all 59 first-preference offers were taken up. The school has a nursery provision for children from age two, and its facilities include a Forest School, sensory room, art studios, sports hall and gymnasium. It offers a range of clubs including gardening, coding and drama, and sports such as netball, swimming and tennis. The school's SEND provision covers specific learning difficulties like dyslexia, speech and language needs, autistic spectrum disorder and social and emotional mental health needs. Only 8.3 per cent of pupils are eligible for free school meals, well below the national average, and the school has no religious character. This is a school that suits families looking for a well-regarded, improving local option with strong early years provision and a broad set of extracurricular opportunities.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
