About One Degree Academy

One Degree Academy in Enfield is a primary school where parents are overwhelmingly positive about their experience. In the most recent Parent View survey, covering the period from September 2024 to September 2025, 96% of the 100 respondents said they would recommend the school to other parents. The feedback is particularly strong on happiness and safety: 79% of parents strongly agreed that their child is happy at the school, and 82% strongly agreed that their child feels safe. The school is also clearly popular with local families. For the 2025/26 academic year, it received 207 applications for just 72 places, giving an oversubscription ratio of 2.88. Of those applications, 65 were first-preference choices, and all 65 received an offer. This level of demand places it among the most sought-after primaries in the borough.

Academically, One Degree Academy performs well above the local average. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 assessments, 87% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, compared with the Enfield local authority average of 67%. The school ranks 3rd out of 59 primary schools in Enfield on this measure, placing it in the top 5% nationally. Results are strong across individual subjects: 90% of pupils met the expected standard in both maths and writing, and 87% did so in reading. At the higher standard, 17% of pupils achieved the top scores across all three subjects. The school's average scaled scores were 108 in maths and 106 in reading. In its most recent graded Ofsted inspection in February 2019, the school was rated Outstanding overall, with Outstanding grades for leadership and management, early years provision, and personal development. A subsequent ungraded inspection in December 2024 confirmed that standards have been maintained.

The school offers a range of facilities that support both academic and personal development, including a sensory room, music rooms, a forest school area, a gymnasium and an outdoor playground. There is a strong focus on enrichment, with clubs covering drama, science, coding and choir, and sports including athletics, netball, dance, cricket and gymnastics. One Degree Academy also provides nursery provision for children from age two. For families with children who have special educational needs, the school lists support for a wide range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, speech, language and communication needs, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. However, it is worth noting that in the Parent View survey, 18% of parents strongly disagreed that the school gives SEND children the support they need, which is a significant minority. The school is currently at just over half its capacity of 720 pupils, with 385 on roll, so there is room for growth. Given its strong academic results and high demand, this is a school that suits families who prioritise a structured, high-expectations environment and are prepared to compete for a place.
