About Norwich Primary Academy

Every single parent who responded to the Ofsted Parent View survey for Norwich Primary Academy said they would recommend the school to other parents, which is a remarkably strong signal. The survey, which ran from September 2024 to September 2025, also shows that 97% of the 28 respondents either agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy at the school, and 93% felt their child is safe. Parents were particularly positive about communication: 100% agreed the school makes them aware of what their child will learn, and 90% agreed they are kept informed about how their child is doing. The school is clearly popular locally, too. For the 2025/26 academic year, Norwich Primary Academy was oversubscribed, receiving 36 applications for just 14 places, giving an oversubscription ratio of 2.57. All 14 first-preference applicants were offered a place, but with more than double the number of families applying, securing a spot is competitive.

Academically, Norwich Primary Academy performs solidly against national benchmarks. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 assessments, 58% of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, which is above the Norfolk local authority average of 52%. The school’s average scores were 103 in maths and 102 in reading, both slightly above the national average of 100. However, the proportion of pupils reaching the higher standard in all three subjects was 0%, and in writing specifically no pupils achieved the higher standard. In maths, 15% reached the higher standard, and in reading 18% did. The school’s most recent Ofsted inspection, an ungraded visit in March 2025, confirmed that standards are being maintained, and it retains its overall Good rating. The previous graded inspection in November 2019 also rated the school Good across all areas, including behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership.

The school serves a community with high levels of disadvantage — 52% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, well above the national average. It has a dedicated range of SEND provisions, including support for autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health. Facilities include an ICT suite, music rooms, playing fields and a chapel, and the school offers a broad selection of clubs such as gardening, art, eco and film club, plus sports including athletics, gymnastics, swimming and netball. With 321 pupils on roll against a capacity of 420, there is some room for growth, but the oversubscription figures suggest demand is high. This is a school that suits families who value strong communication from staff and a supportive environment, particularly those whose children may benefit from the school’s experience with SEND and its inclusive approach.

No catchment data published for this school

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.

⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
