About New Longton All Saints CofE Primary School

If you're looking for a primary school where parents are genuinely happy, the numbers at New Longton All Saints CofE Primary School are striking. In the most recent Parent View survey, covering responses from September 2024 to September 2025, a remarkable 98% of parents said they would recommend the school to others. That's a near-unanimous vote of confidence from 89 respondents. Digging into the detail, 99% of parents agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy at the school, and the same proportion felt their child is safe. The school is clearly popular with families in South Ribble, too: for the 2025/26 academic year, it received 63 applications for just 30 places, giving an oversubscription ratio of 2.1. Of those, 32 were first-preference applications, and 29 of those families were offered a place. It's a Church of England primary with a nursery provision, and headteacher Nicola Urey leads a school that is operating slightly over its official capacity of 210, with 214 pupils currently on roll.

Academically, New Longton All Saints is performing at an exceptionally high level. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 results, 97% of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, compared with a Lancashire local authority average of just 60%. That puts the school ranked 1st out of 35 primary schools in South Ribble, and 55th nationally out of 13,686. The proportion of pupils reaching the higher standard in all three subjects was 13%, while in maths alone 48% achieved the higher mark and the average score was 110. Reading averaged 109, with 48% reaching the higher threshold. In writing, 100% met the expected standard and 23% hit the higher bar. The school's most recent graded Ofsted inspection, in May 2015, rated it Good overall, with Outstanding for early years provision. An ungraded inspection in November 2024 confirmed that standards are being maintained, with leadership and management also judged Good.

Beyond the classroom, the school offers a solid range of facilities including a library, ICT suite, sensory room, forest school area, art studios and a chapel. Sports provision covers swimming, football, cricket, athletics, cross country and dance, while clubs include eco club, book club, gardening and science club. For families with children who have additional needs, the school reports support for moderate learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication needs, and other difficulties or disabilities. However, the Parent View data on SEND support was more mixed: 36% strongly agreed and 36% agreed that the school gives SEND children the support they need, but 9% disagreed and 9% strongly disagreed. With just 4.7% of pupils eligible for free school meals, the school serves a relatively affluent catchment. This is a school that will particularly suit families who value strong academic outcomes, a Church of England ethos, and a setting where the vast majority of parents feel their child is thriving.

No catchment data published for this school

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.

⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
