Mobberley CofE Primary School was judged Good in its most recent Ofsted inspection in October 2024, though the school’s history shows it was previously rated Outstanding back in 2012. The inspection report awarded Outstanding for behaviour and attitudes, while quality of education, early years provision, personal development, and leadership and management were all rated Good. On the headline academic measure for primary schools, 55% of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined at Key Stage 2 in the 2023/24 academic year. That figure sits below the Cheshire East local authority average of 64%, and places the school 81st out of 113 primary schools in the borough. Nationally, it ranks in the bottom half of schools on this metric, at the 68th percentile. Just 10% of pupils reached the higher standard across all three subjects, and average scaled scores were 105 in reading and 104 in maths.

Parent feedback, however, is overwhelmingly positive: 99% of the 87 respondents to the Parent View survey would recommend the school, and 91% strongly agreed that their child feels safe. Strong agreement was also high for happiness (82%), behaviour (77%), and the range of clubs and activities (76%). The school has a Church of England religious character and is led by headteacher Damien Stenson.

Mobberley is a smaller-than-average primary with 191 pupils against a capacity of 210, and it is oversubscribed: for the 2025/26 intake, there were 43 applications for 28 places, with 22 first-preference offers made. The school offers a Forest School, a sensory room, a chapel, an ICT suite, art studios, a library and a sports hall. Clubs include chess, coding, eco club, science club and book club, while sports on offer are gymnastics, athletics, tennis and dance. The school lists SEND provisions for specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, moderate learning difficulty, social emotional and mental health needs, speech language and communication needs, and autistic spectrum disorder. 15% of pupils have SEND, and 7.9% are eligible for free school meals.
