About Laurel Lane Primary School
Laurel Lane Primary School is a state primary in the London borough of Hillingdon, a local authority with 67 primary schools and nine rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The school currently ranks 54th out of those 67 schools on the key stage 2 expected standard measure, placing it in the bottom half of the LA. For context, the top-performing peers in the borough include Deanesfield Primary School, Whiteheath Junior School and The Breakspear School, all of which score significantly higher on the same metric. The nearest Outstanding-rated school is Hillingdon Primary School, about 3.9 kilometres away. Laurel Lane is a mixed, non-religious school for children aged 3 to 11, with a nursery on site. It has a capacity of 420 but currently enrols 313 pupils, so there is some spare room. Academically, the school’s most recent Ofsted inspection in January 2025 judged it as Requires Improvement overall, though this was a graded inspection and the overall effectiveness label was recorded as ‘Not judged’. The breakdown shows several areas rated Good: early years provision, personal development, behaviour and attitudes, and leadership and management. The quality of education remains Requires Improvement. In the 2023/24 key stage 2 results, just 34% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, well below the Hillingdon LA average of 64%. Only 10% achieved the higher standard in reading, writing and maths. Individual subject scores show 69% met the expected standard in writing, 48% in maths and 45% in reading. Average scaled scores were 100 for maths and 97 for reading. The school ranks in the bottom 50 nationally on the combined measure, at the 95th percentile among all primary schools.
The school offers a range of facilities including a library, dining hall, gymnasium, sensory room, ICT suite, outdoor playground and a chapel. Sports on offer include netball, tennis, dance, football, cross country, swimming and gymnastics, while clubs include book club, drama, choir, coding and chess. SEND provision is broad, covering specific learning difficulties like dyslexia, moderate learning difficulty, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech and language communication needs, hearing impairment, physical disability, autistic spectrum disorder and other difficulties. Parent View responses from 35 parents between September 2024 and September 2025 show strong satisfaction: 89% would recommend the school, and 97% agreed or strongly agreed their child is happy. On SEND support, 89% agreed the school gives the support needed. This school may suit families who value a strong pastoral and SEND offer and are comfortable with a school that is still working on academic outcomes, particularly given the positive parent feedback on behaviour, safety and personal development.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
