About Lapage Primary School and Nursery
Of the 25 parents who responded to Ofsted's Parent View survey between September 2024 and September 2025, 64% said they would recommend Lapage Primary School and Nursery to other families. That's a solid majority, though it leaves over a third who wouldn't. The school is clearly popular in the local area: for 2025/26 reception places, it received 168 applications for just 61 places, an oversubscription ratio of 2.75. Of those, 59 first-preference families were offered a spot. Parents' views on specific areas are mixed. While 84% agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy, and a similar proportion felt the school lets them know how their child is doing, only 60% felt concerns are dealt with properly. Behaviour is a particular sticking point — just 64% agreed the school ensures pupils are well behaved, and 20% strongly disagreed that bullying is dealt with quickly and effectively.
Academically, Lapage sits in the bottom half of primary schools nationally, ranking 9,879th out of 13,686 schools on the key stage 2 reading, writing and maths expected standard measure. In Bradford, it ranks 105th out of 153 schools. Just 53% of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, below the local authority average of 59%. Individual subject scores are more encouraging: 71% reached the expected standard in reading, with an average scaled score of 104, and 66% did so in maths, also averaging 104. Writing was weaker at 60%. At the higher standard, 31% achieved it in maths, 24% in reading, but only 11% in writing. The school's most recent Ofsted inspection, an ungraded visit in June 2025, confirmed that standards are being maintained at Good overall, a notable improvement from its previous graded inspection in 2013, which rated the school as Requires Improvement.
The school is larger than its capacity, with 665 pupils on roll against a published capacity of 630. It has a high proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals at 34%. Facilities include a sensory room, art studios, music rooms, a gymnasium and a chapel. Sports on offer include dance, netball, football and cross country, and clubs include gardening, book club and film club. The nursery provision means children can start at age three. SEND support covers a wide range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language communication needs, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. For families considering alternatives, the nearest Outstanding-rated primary is Dixons Marchbank Primary, just 0.2 km away. Lapage is a school that has improved significantly since its Requires Improvement rating, but its academic results remain below the local average and parent satisfaction is notably divided on behaviour and bullying.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
