About Greenways Primary Academy
Greenways Primary Academy in Stoke-on-Trent has been rated Good by Ofsted following its most recent ungraded inspection in January 2025, which noted that the school has improved significantly since its previous graded inspection in 2013, when it was judged to require improvement. The school's leadership and management are also rated Good. But the most telling academic metric is the proportion of Year 6 pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined: 83 per cent. That is well above the Stoke-on-Trent local authority average of 60 per cent, placing Greenways fifth out of 63 primary schools in the area, comfortably inside the top 10 per cent locally. The school also ranks in the top 7 per cent nationally for this measure, which gives a clear snapshot of solid, consistent teaching across the core subjects.
Drilling into the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 results, the picture is strong across the board. In reading, 93 per cent of pupils met the expected standard and 47 per cent reached the higher standard, with an average scaled score of 109. In maths, 93 per cent met the expected standard and 20 per cent hit the higher level, with an average score of 107. Writing saw 90 per cent at the expected level and 20 per cent at greater depth. The school's overall ranking score of 83 reflects this broad strength. Parent feedback is overwhelmingly positive: 95 per cent of the 57 respondents would recommend the school, and 97 per cent agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy there. On behaviour, 99 per cent felt the school ensures pupils are well behaved, and 86 per cent agreed that concerns are dealt with properly.
Greenways is a mixed, non-denominational primary for ages 3 to 11, with a nursery on site. It is oversubscribed: for 2025/26 entry, there were 47 applications for 26 places, with all 26 first-preference applicants offered a spot. The school has a range of facilities including a library, ICT suite, sports hall, playing fields and a chapel. Sports on offer include cricket, football, athletics and cross country, while clubs range from film and art to chess, coding and drama. The school's SEND provision covers eight areas, including autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language needs, and social and emotional mental health. With a relatively low proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals at 6 per cent, and a capacity of 210 currently housing 235 pupils, Greenways is a popular, high-performing choice for families who want strong academic outcomes within a supportive local school.

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
