About Glebelands Primary Academy
Glebelands Primary Academy sits in a tricky spot when you compare its headline Key Stage 2 results against the Cambridgeshire local authority average. The LA average for pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined is 58 per cent, but at Glebelands that figure is 49 per cent — a gap of nine percentage points. That places the school 150th out of 210 primary schools in the county, and 17th out of 28 in the Fenland district. The school’s ranking score of 49 puts it in the bottom 50 per cent nationally. However, the picture is not uniformly below par. In writing, 75 per cent of pupils hit the expected standard, which is a solid showing, and average scaled scores in reading and maths both sit at 102. The proportion reaching the higher standard in any of the three subjects is low — just 2 per cent in writing and reading, writing, maths combined, and 10 per cent in maths — so the school’s strength lies in getting most children to a secure baseline rather than pushing many into the top tier.
The school’s most recent Ofsted inspection, an ungraded visit in March 2025, confirmed that standards are being maintained at Good, a significant improvement from its previous graded inspection in 2014 when it was rated Requires Improvement. Leadership and management were also judged Good. Parent feedback from the Parent View survey, collected between September 2024 and September 2025, is largely positive: 89 per cent of the 38 respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy, and 92 per cent agreed or strongly agreed that their child does well. On behaviour, 77 per cent agreed that the school ensures pupils are well behaved, and 95 per cent felt the school has high expectations for their child. The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is 26.4 per cent, above the national average, which may partly explain the attainment gap against the LA average.
Glebelands is a mixed, non-denominational primary for ages 4 to 11, with 405 pupils on roll against a capacity of 420. It was oversubscribed for 2025/26 entry, receiving 80 applications for 52 places, with 49 first-preference offers made. The school offers a range of facilities including art studios, music rooms, a sensory room, an ICT suite, a gymnasium, a sports hall and a chapel. Sports on offer include swimming, tennis, football, cross country and cricket, and there are clubs for book club, drama and coding. The school’s SEND provisions cover specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, moderate learning difficulty, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication needs, hearing impairment and autistic spectrum disorder. This is a school that suits families who value a Good-rated, inclusive environment with strong parent satisfaction, particularly those whose children benefit from solid support in writing and a broad range of extracurricular opportunities.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
