About George Fentham Endowed School
Parents at George Fentham Endowed School are overwhelmingly positive about their experience. In the most recent Parent View survey, covering the period from September 2024 to September 2025, a remarkable 99% of the 69 respondents said they would recommend the school to other parents. The survey responses paint a picture of a school where children are happy and feel safe: 100% of parents agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy, and 98% felt their child is safe. Behaviour is another strong point, with every parent agreeing that pupils are well behaved. The school is also popular locally; for the 2025/26 academic year, it received 57 applications for just 30 places, giving an oversubscription ratio of 1.9. Of those, 33 were first-preference applications, and 29 first-preference offers were made, confirming its status as a sought-after choice for families in Solihull.
Academically, the school performs solidly against local benchmarks. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 assessments, 66% of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined. This is very close to the Solihull local authority average of 67%, placing the school 24th out of 59 similar schools in the area. While the proportion reaching the higher standard in all three subjects was 10%, individual subject results show particular strength in reading, where 34% of pupils achieved the higher standard and the average scaled score was 105. In maths, 17% reached the higher standard with an average score of 104. The school’s most recent Ofsted inspection in January 2025 was a monitoring visit rather than a full graded inspection, so no overall effectiveness grade was awarded. However, inspectors judged behaviour and attitudes, personal development, early years provision, and leadership and management all as Outstanding, with quality of education rated Good. This marks a change from the school’s previous Outstanding rating in 2014.
The school offers a range of facilities including a sports hall, playing fields, library, ICT suite, and a chapel, reflecting its Church of England foundation. Sports provision covers football, athletics, cricket, netball, cross country and tennis, while clubs include eco club, chess, choir and art club. For families with children who have special educational needs, the school lists provisions for specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, moderate learning difficulty, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication needs, hearing and visual impairments, and autistic spectrum disorder. However, the Parent View data on SEND support was mixed: while 80% of parents agreed or strongly agreed that SEND children receive the support they need, 10% disagreed and 10% said they did not know. With a capacity of 240 and 213 pupils on roll, the school is not at full capacity, but the oversubscription figures suggest demand is high, particularly for first-preference applicants. It also offers nursery provision for children from age three.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
