About Drapers' Pyrgo Priory School
Drapers' Pyrgo Priory School in Havering received a Good rating from Ofsted in its most recent inspection in June 2025, a notable improvement from its previous Requires Improvement judgement in 2023. The school was graded Good across all five assessed categories: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision. However, the school's academic outcomes at Key Stage 2 present a mixed picture. In the 2023/24 academic year, 53% of pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, which is below the Havering local authority average of 65%. This places the school 41st out of 49 primary schools in the borough, in the bottom 50% nationally. Average scores in reading (101) and maths (102) are close to the national benchmark of 100, but the proportion of pupils reaching the higher standard in all three subjects is just 2%, with only 10% achieving higher in reading and 14% in maths.
The school serves a community with significant disadvantage, with 39.9% of pupils eligible for free school meals, well above the national average. This context is important when interpreting the results. Ofsted noted that the school has improved its curriculum and leadership since the previous inspection, and the Good rating suggests the school is on an upward trajectory. Parent feedback is broadly positive, with 79% of respondents in the Parent View survey saying they would recommend the school. Strong majorities agreed that their child is happy (96% strongly agree or agree) and feels safe (92%). However, there are some concerns: 21% of parents disagreed that bullying is dealt with quickly and effectively, and 17% disagreed that the school has high expectations for their child.
Drapers' Pyrgo Priory is a three-form entry primary with nursery provision for children aged 3 to 11. It is heavily oversubscribed: for the 2025/26 intake, there were 53 applications for just 14 places, a ratio of 3.79 applicants per place. All 14 first-preference applicants were offered a place. The school has a wide range of facilities including a library, music rooms, playing fields, an ICT suite, a forest school and a chapel. Sports on offer include swimming, gymnastics, cross country and dance, and there are clubs for chess, science and gardening. The school has a strong SEND offer, with provisions for autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language needs, social and emotional mental health, moderate learning difficulties and physical disabilities. This is a school that has improved its Ofsted rating and serves a high-needs community, but parents should weigh the below-average KS2 outcomes against the strong pastoral and SEND support on offer.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
