About Dogsthorpe Academy

Just over half of parents who responded to Ofsted's Parent View survey between September 2024 and September 2025 said they would recommend Dogsthorpe Academy, with 65 per cent ticking yes. That's a middling figure, and the full picture is more mixed. On the positive side, 85 per cent of the 20 respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their child is happy at the school, and 85 per cent felt their child does well there. But when it comes to behaviour and communication, the feedback is less rosy: only half of parents agreed that the school makes them aware of what their child will learn, and just 45 per cent felt concerns are dealt with properly. A quarter of respondents strongly disagreed that the school makes sure pupils are well behaved. The school is oversubscribed, with 343 pupils on roll against a capacity of 360, so demand is there, but the parent experience signals suggest some real friction points.
