About Collis Primary School
Collis Primary School is a large state primary in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames, currently home to 703 pupils against a capacity of 732. That near-full school serves a relatively affluent catchment: only 7.9% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, well below the national average for primary schools. Demand for places is intense. For the 2025/26 intake, the school received 270 applications for 90 places, an oversubscription ratio of three applications per spot. Of those, 109 were first-preference applications, and all 90 offers went to first-preference families. The school has no religious character and offers nursery provision from age three. Kevin Hogston is the headteacher. In its most recent Ofsted inspection, carried out in April 2025, the school was judged Outstanding across all five graded areas: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision. That continues a strong track record, as the school also held an Outstanding rating in its previous inspection.
Academically, Collis performs well above the local average. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 assessments, 84% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, compared with a Richmond upon Thames local authority average of 76%. That places the school 10th out of 38 primaries in the borough on this measure, and 821st nationally out of 13,686 schools. Looking at individual subjects, 94% hit the expected standard in writing, 90% in maths, and 87% in reading. At the higher standard, 18% of pupils achieved top marks across all three subjects, with maths and reading both seeing strong higher-score rates of 41% and 47% respectively. The average scaled scores were 108 in both reading and maths. The school’s parent view survey, based on 482 responses collected between September 2024 and September 2025, shows overwhelming satisfaction: 99% of parents would recommend the school, and 88% strongly agreed that their child is happy there.
The school site includes a chapel, music rooms, a sensory room, playing fields and an outdoor playground. Pupils can take part in sports including tennis, athletics, swimming, cross country, dance and gymnastics, and clubs on offer include book club, eco club and film club. For children with special educational needs, the school lists provisions for specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, moderate learning difficulty, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication needs, autistic spectrum disorder, and other difficulties or disabilities. In the parent view survey, 64% of respondents strongly agreed that SEND children receive the support they need, though 9% disagreed. With its Outstanding rating, strong academic results and high demand for places, Collis is a school that suits families who can navigate a competitive admissions process and who value a well-regarded local primary with a broad range of facilities and a strong sense of parental approval.

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
