About Collingbourne Church of England Primary School
Collingbourne Church of England Primary School is a small state primary in Wiltshire, with 101 pupils on roll and a capacity of 119. It sits within a local authority that contains 201 primary schools, six of which hold an Outstanding Ofsted rating. The school’s own ranking among Wiltshire primaries places it at 152nd, putting it in the bottom half of the LA table. Its top-performing local peers include Stanton St Quintin Primary and Nursery School, The Holy Trinity Church of England Primary Academy, and Sutton Veny CofE School, all of which score significantly higher on the ranking metric. The nearest Outstanding-rated school is Zouch Academy, about 4.4 kilometres away. Collingbourne is a Church of England school, led by headteacher Harriet Phillips, and it is oversubscribed: for the 2025/26 intake, it received 30 applications for 17 places, with 15 first-preference offers made, giving an oversubscription ratio of 1.76.
Academically, the picture is mixed. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 assessments, 29% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, well below the Wiltshire LA average of 58%. The school ranks in the bottom 50 nationally for this metric, at the 97th percentile from the bottom. However, individual subject results tell a more nuanced story: 100% of pupils met the expected standard in reading, with an average score of 107, and 86% did so in maths, with an average score of 104. The gap appears in writing, where only 29% reached the expected level. At the higher standard, 14% achieved in reading, writing and maths combined. In its most recent Ofsted inspection, carried out in February 2025, the school was judged to be Good overall, with Good ratings for leadership and management, early years provision, and behaviour and attitudes. The previous graded inspection in 2019 also rated it Good, and the ungraded visit in 2025 confirmed that standards were being maintained.
The school offers a range of facilities including an outdoor playground, library, gymnasium, ICT suite, music rooms and a chapel. Sports provision covers football, cross country, gymnastics, cricket, netball and rounders, while clubs include choir, gardening, book club, science club, chess and drama. SEND support is available for pupils with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, moderate learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication needs, hearing impairment, and autistic spectrum disorder. Parent View responses from 39 families between September 2024 and September 2025 show that 79% would recommend the school. Strong agreement was high on happiness (59%), safety (59%) and clubs (56%), though some concerns were raised: 23% strongly disagreed that SEND children receive the support they need, and 18% disagreed that concerns are dealt with properly. This is a school that suits families who value its small size, Church of England character, and strong reading outcomes, but who are aware of the challenges in writing attainment and some areas of parent satisfaction.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
