About Churchfields Junior School
Churchfields Junior School sits in the London borough of Redbridge, a local authority with 53 primary schools, of which 12 currently hold an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. Churchfields is one of them, and its performance in the most recent Key Stage 2 results places it 5th out of 50 schools in the LA when measured by the percentage of pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths. That puts it in the top 10 per cent of primaries locally, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Al-Noor Voluntary Aided Muslim Primary School, St Bede's Catholic Primary School and Our Lady of Lourdes RC Primary School, which occupy the top three spots. The school is a junior school, taking children from age 7 to 11, and is led by headteacher Rebecca Emeny. It is non-denominational and co-educational, with 479 pupils on a capacity of 480, so it is essentially full.
Academically, Churchfields delivers strong results. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 assessments, 86 per cent of pupils achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, well above the Redbridge LA average of 74 per cent. A third of pupils reached the higher standard in all three subjects. In reading, 52 per cent achieved the higher standard, with an average scaled score of 109; in maths, 50 per cent hit the higher threshold, also averaging a score of 109. Writing saw 38 per cent at the higher level, and 96 per cent met the expected standard in writing alone. The school’s most recent Ofsted inspection, in October 2024, judged it Outstanding across the board — quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management all received the top grade. The previous inspection, in 2014, also rated the school Outstanding overall, so this is a sustained track record.
Parents are overwhelmingly positive. In the most recent Parent View survey, covering September 2024 to September 2025, 98 per cent of the 106 respondents said they would recommend the school. 73 per cent strongly agreed that their child is happy, and 80 per cent strongly agreed that their child feels safe. The school offers a broad range of clubs including science, coding, drama, choir and gardening, and sports such as athletics, football, tennis and cricket. Facilities include an ICT suite, library, art studios, music rooms, playing fields and a chapel. SEND provision covers specific learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech and language needs, visual impairment, social and emotional mental health needs, and autistic spectrum disorder. With a 12.3 per cent rate of pupils eligible for free school meals, the school serves a mixed catchment. It is oversubscribed, so families should check admission criteria carefully. This is a strong choice for parents seeking high academic standards and a well-regarded local junior school with proven Ofsted outcomes.

The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
