The school’s most recent Ofsted inspection, in July 2025, judged it Good across all areas — a notable improvement from its previous Requires Improvement rating in February 2023. Behaviour, personal development, leadership and the quality of education all received Good grades.

The school serves a community with high levels of disadvantage: 44.1% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, well above the national average. Beechview has a wide range of SEND provisions, including support for dyslexia, speech and language needs, autistic spectrum disorder and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Facilities include a sports hall, playing fields, a sensory room and a chapel. Clubs on offer include gardening, drama, choir and film club, and sports include football, cricket, swimming and athletics.
