About Acton Gardens Primary School
Acton Gardens Primary School in Ealing was rated Good in its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2025, with inspectors awarding Good across all five graded categories: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision. The school has held a Good rating since at least its previous inspection in 2011. However, the headline exam metric tells a more challenging story. In the 2023/24 Key Stage 2 assessments, only 47% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined. That figure sits well below the Ealing local authority average of 71% and places the school 63rd out of 65 primary schools in the borough, in the bottom 50 nationally. Just 2% of pupils achieved the higher standard across all three subjects, compared with 16% in maths alone and 29% in reading. Average scaled scores were 103 in maths and 104 in reading, both slightly above the national baseline of 100 but not enough to lift the combined results.
Looking more closely at individual subjects, the picture is mixed. In maths, 71% of pupils met the expected standard, and 16% reached the higher standard. Reading saw 67% at expected and 29% at higher, while writing had 69% at expected and 10% at higher. The school’s Progress 8 scores are not available, so it is difficult to say how much value the school adds relative to pupils’ starting points. The parent view survey, completed by 46 respondents between September 2024 and September 2025, shows a divided community. While 65% strongly agreed or agreed that their child is happy, 35% disagreed or strongly disagreed. On safety, 59% felt positive, but 37% did not. Behaviour was a particular concern: only 48% agreed the school ensures good behaviour, while 52% disagreed. Just 54% of parents would recommend the school to another parent.
The school is oversubscribed for 2025/26, with 120 applications for 60 places and 39 first-preference offers. It serves a diverse community, with 44.3% of pupils eligible for free school meals, well above the national average. Facilities include a forest school, sensory room, music rooms, sports hall, library, ICT suite and chapel. The school offers a broad range of SEND provisions, covering specific learning difficulties, moderate to severe learning difficulties, speech and language needs, hearing impairment, autistic spectrum disorder and social, emotional and mental health support. Clubs include film club, drama and choir, while sports on offer are netball, dance, athletics and tennis. There is nursery provision for children aged three and above. This school may suit families who value its inclusive SEND offer and wide facilities, but the academic results and parent satisfaction data suggest it is worth visiting and asking detailed questions about teaching and behaviour support.

Catchment & Local Competition
No catchment data published for this school
The dashed grey ring is a generic 1-mile reference area — it's not an admission boundary. Real catchment depends on year, demand, and council criteria. We currently have real data for about 6% of UK schools and are actively expanding the database.
⚠ This school is oversubscribed — without published cutoff data we can't show how far places reach. Check your council's admissions page.
